🌳We are hiring a Wildlife Research Technician in the Wildlife Research Division of Environment and Climate Change Canada to provide research coordination, technical and administrative support for an applied social sciences and ethnobiology research program. This program fosters the conservation and protection of Canada’s natural environment through the mobilization and weaving of Indigenous and Western sciences and knowledge systems. We offer a work environment that supports diversity, inclusion, and employment equity, while delivering innovative, community-engaged and action-oriented research for the conservation and sustainable use of species at risk, migratory birds, and their habitats.
⭐The purpose of this selection process is to staff one (1) bilingual essential indeterminate (permanent) position in Montreal, Quebec.
Appointment opportunities may be for either full time or part-time positions. Through this process, a pool of qualified candidates may be established and used to staff similar positions across Canada with various tenures (casual employment, part-time worker, acting, assignment/secondment, deployment, term and/or indeterminate), language profiles, security requirements and/or operational requirements.

🎓Education:
A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives in a field of the social or natural sciences directly related to the duties of the position.
🧪Experience:
EX1 :Experience in planning, organizing or conducting social sciences or ethnobiological research related to wildlife or the environment
EX2: Experience in conducting research in partnership with Indigenous communities or Indigenous organizations
EX3: Experience in managing or analyzing social sciences research data
EX4: Experience in preparing scientific reports or publications

〰️Knowledge of ethical standards and protocols specific to research with Indigenous peoples
