STREAM 1 - Visual communications
At the Privy Council Office (PCO), our Visual Communications team plays a crucial role in communicating information that is accessible and easily understandable while also fostering engagement through visually compelling content. We go beyond supporting the effective communication of Government of Canada policies and initiatives; we actively contribute to building trust and transparency in government communication.
As part of our dynamic team, you’ll work alongside skilled professionals in graphic design, multimedia, and visual storytelling. Together, we generate content across various platforms and provide creative services support to diverse clients, including the Prime Minister’s Office, the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office, the Clerk and Deputy Clerks of the Privy Council, and various portfolios under PCO’s leadership.
Our team maintains full-time coverage from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday, with on-call coverage until 9 p.m. on weekdays and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekends.

STREAM 2 - Media communications

EDUCATION
ED: A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with a specialization in communications, graphic design, multimedia or a field related to the positions, or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE
Common to both streams:
EX1: Experience liaising with and providing communications advice to management.
Stream 1 (Visual):
EX2: Experience producing at least three of the following products: social media or web graphics, motion graphics, GIFs, illustrations, large format print materials, print layouts, wireframes and web mock-ups.
EX3: Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud.
Stream 2 (Media):
EX4: Experience in media monitoring and analysis.
EX5: Experience in research, summarizing, writing and editing documents.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
EXPERIENCE
Stream 1 (Visual):
AEXP1: Experience in video production and editing.
AEXP2: Experience producing video interviews, b-roll, event/conference photography, photojournalism.
AEXP3: Knowledge and experience in photography.

Candidates must meet all the essential qualifications to be appointed to a position.
