The Government of Canada Publications Directorate (formerly Publishing and Depository Services) is currently looking for an individual interested in assuming a leadership and a management role within the Depository Services Program unit (the Program). You will be responsible of an established unit of specialists in the field of library and information management.
The Directorate’s mandate is to provide the public with a centralized access to Government of Canada publications through its website named Government of Canada Publications Website (publications.gc.ca), which helps make publications published by federal departments and agencies available to the Canadian and international public.
To fulfill this mandate, you will manage activities and services related to the Program, including the acquisition, digitization and cataloging of information published by the Government of Canada.
The selected candidate will represent the Program or the Department in interdepartmental and intradepartmental committees as well as with associations, networks and national forums concerning information and content management. The candidate will work with the sectors, services and programs of the Department to establish partnerships, adopt new practices and collaborate on the activities, policies and departmental initiatives of the Government of Canada regarding the management of information and content, and access to Government of Canada publications.

🎓Education :
Graduation from a recognized post-secondary institution with a master’s degree in library science or in library and information science; or Graduation from a recognized post-secondary institution with a bachelor’s degree in library science or in library and information science for which another bachelor’s degree was a prerequisite.
📌EXPERIENCE:
1.Experience in managing metadata in an integrated library system.
2.Experience managing and delivering services in a library or information management setting.
3.*Recent experience in human and financial resources management.
4.Experience in providing advice and recommendation to senior management** on a variety of issues.
5.Experience in developing and maintaining relationships with clients and external partners or stakeholders.
6.Experience in the development and implementation of a strategic plan or an operational plan.
*Recent experience is an experience that has been acquired within the last 5 years.
**Senior management refers to Director level and above.
📌ASSET EXPERIENCE:
1.Experience in participating to or leading committees or working groups, and in representing their organization with stakeholders.
2.Experience in project management.
