Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) is the center of action for government research and policy regarding energy, mining, forestry and earth sciences. We have an exciting mandate that is central to Government of Canada priorities. Our organization is dynamic, creative and innovative.

The main position is located in Ottawa. NRCan works with a hybrid model and a minimum of 3 days per week in the office is expected for this position.

EDUCATION:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.
EXPERIENCE:
EX01: Experience in setting strategic direction and providing leadership in the development of policies, programs and frameworks related to science and technology.
EX02: Experience in setting strategic direction and providing strategic policy advice and briefings on scientific, research & development issues to senior officials (Deputy Minister, CEO and above) and various stakeholders that have an organization-wide impact.
EX03: Experience in developing and maintaining successful relationships and partnerships with industry, other governments, academia or international organizations.
EX04: Experience in managing significant (1) financial and complex (2) human resources matters.
NOTES
(1) Significant financial management is defined as exercising financial authorities at the senior officials level (or equivalent), including direct accountability for a budget. The size of the budget managed directly and indirectly should be demonstrated.
(2) Complex human resources matters include leading and being accountable for a broad range of activities related to human resources management.
NOTE: The depth and breadth of experience may be a consideration in selecting candidates for further consideration. In such a case, only the top ranking candidacies will be invited to the next phase of the evaluations.

ABILITIES
