Shared Services Canada (SSC) is committed to creating a workplace that is respectful of Canada’s two official languages. The staffing of bilingual positions, with respect to supervision and the provision of common and central services, is the norm in regions designated bilingual for language-of-work purposes. SSC must ensure that it has adequate bilingual capacity to implement its mandate, while respecting the language rights of its employees and those of client departments across the country. Language training is offered to SSC employees who would like to acquire or improve skills in the other official language for developmental or career advancement purposes.

Give yourself the best chance to succeed! As the objective of this process is to assess qualifications needed for the position(s) to be staffed, let us know if you have a functional limitation/ disability, which may affect your performance. For example, contact us if you need assistance in completing and submitting your application. Should you then proceed to the next assessment stage, such as an exam or interview, we will send you an e-mail with additional information on the assessment format so that you can determine if you may require an accommodation (such as a different test format, an adaptive technology, or additional time). Assessment accommodations are designed to remove obstacles without altering the criteria being assessed to allow candidates with functional limitations to fully demonstrate their abilities.

Duties

The Networks and Security Services Branch (NSSB) Product Management (PDM) is responsible for the life cycle management of Connectivity Services and is responsible for the overall success of SSC's network and security business products. Product Management plays a key role in launching and supporting new Networks and Security IT products and experience via the procurement of contracting vehicles with external suppliers or by supporting existing contracts to be used to meet the requirements from all Government of Canada departments.
Product Management provides financial management oversight for its supported contracting vehicles and services which includes but is not limited to, invoice reconciliation and payments and budgetary forecasting. It also analyses and reports on large volumes of service and contract data. Product Management has a broad audience and stakeholders across SSC and the Government of Canada, as well as external vendors, nationally and internationally with which it works with to ensure that the Networks and Security product vision is maintained and service is properly rendered to all SSC's partners and clients.
Service contracts created or renewed/modified by PDM are then leveraged by other teams within SSC such as the provisioning team to serve government departments and issue service orders to vendors. PDM creates and documents processes and procedures for all the teams and the functions that are involved in overall management and delivery of our suite of services: WAN, LAN, Internet, Satellites, Networks Security and Infrastructure, etc.
