Duties

Work with a team of action-oriented staff who strive to improve the daily lives of Northerners. This is accomplished by leading and coordinating program administration by gathering and analyzing information, developing and reviewing departmental performance indicators, and preparing reports, presentations and recommendations for senior management. Promotes and ensures departmental compliance and alignment with strategic goals and supports administrative and financial requirements of the NWT Region Executive Office.

Work environment

Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) and Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs (CIRNAC) work collaboratively with partners to improve access to high-quality services for First Nations, Inuit and Métis. Our vision is to support and empower Indigenous peoples to independently deliver services and address the socioeconomic conditions in their communities.

Intent of the process

Immediate need: One (1) full-time indeterminate position at Yellowknife, NWT.

This process will be used to fill current vacancies and to establish a pool of qualified candidates for future opportunities (Deployment, Assignment, Secondment, Acting, Term or Indeterminate) within
Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (CIRNAC) with various security requirements (reliability or secret).

*** The pool created as a result of staffing processes at CIRNAC as well as Candidate information/assessment material WILL NOT be shared with other government federal departments outside Northwest Territories to fill vacancies elsewhere across Canada. ***

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
• Experience in providing general administrative services and managing the flow of information.
• Experience coordinating program and/or project activities.
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint and Excel) and Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI).
• Experience researching, analyzing and synthesizing complex information from a variety of sources to meet job requirements.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience working and living in the north.
• Experience in project and program management.
• Experience in financial management, including planning, auditing and monitoring.
