📌INSTRUCTIONS📌

⚙️ HIRING PROCESS

👉Under the supervision of the Transportation Security Manager, your mandate will consist of enforcing legislation and regulations regarding air or rail security.
You will interact with various industry stakeholders daily, facilitate regulatory compliance and take enforcement measures when deemed appropriate. You will conduct operational and administrative inspections and investigations, work as a team to solve complex problems and will have the opportunity to contribute to a variety of special projects. The work consists of a balance between administrative and operational work (inspections). The training to be fully sufficient for the role takes approximately a year (1).
This task description may lead to the following positions: aviation security inspector, air cargo security inspector or rail security inspector.
🔍The Safety and Security Group of Transport Canada is responsible for the development of regulations and national standards, as well as for the implementation of monitoring, testing, inspections and subsidy programs, which contribute to safety and security in the four modes of transport: aviation, marine, rail and road.
The Group also ensures that the Department is prepared to respond to transportation and transportation-related emergencies.
The existence of this position ensures the extent of leadership and oversight required to respond to the many new and expanding challenges in key areas of the Safety and Security Group mandate.
The intent of this process is to staff positions for an indeterminate period. This process may also be used to establish a pool of essentially or partially qualified candidates in order to staff positions of various durations as they become available.

📚 EDUCATION
ED: A secondary school diploma, OR an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

AED : Degree from a recognized university
AEX1: Experience in conducting enforcement activities.

AEX4: Experience in emergency management.
AEX5: Experience in conducting regulatory or policy based inspections or regulatory or policy based audits.
AEX6: Experience in aviation safety, air cargo safety, rail safety or marine safety.
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• Required occasionally to travel regionally, nationally and internationally using all modes of transportation and agree to do so
• Required to work overtime on short notice and agree to do so
• Required to work overtime on a irregular schedule and agree to do so
Secret security clearance - • Obtain and maintain Secret Security Clearance
• Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Required to pass a pre-employment Category III Medical for Transportation Security Inspectors as well as Category II medical every 5 years.
