Assessment accommodation

Intent of the process

A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions at this group and level with various language requirements (English Essential or Bilingual Imperative), various security requirements, various conditions of employment as well as various tenures (acting, assignment/secondment, deployment, term and/or indeterminate) within Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada and Indigenous Services Canada.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Education:
• Dental Therapist: Diploma of Dental Therapy or Certification from the National School of Dental Therapy.
OR
• Dental Hygienist: Successful completion of a dental hygiene program recognized by the College of Registered Dental Hygienists of Manitoba.

Degree equivalency

Occupational Certification:
• Dental Hygienist only: Valid Practice Permit from the College of Registered Dental Hygienists of Manitoba – OR – Eligibility for registration as a Dental Hygienist with the College of Registered Dental Hygienists of Manitoba.

Experience:
• Experience working as a Dental Therapist or Dental Hygienist.
• Experience implementing Health Promotion programs/activities.
• Experience working in Indigenous communities or with Indigenous populations.
• Experience working with partners to design and implement oral health service delivery models

• Knowledge of current preventive dental practices.
• Knowledge of current Infection, Prevention and Control practices.
• Knowledge of health care issues and health care programs available in First Nations communities

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

• Willingness to work overtime on short or no notice
• Willingness to travel as per the demands of the job to communities in remote and urban areas using a variety of modes of transportation, such as, small aircraft, snowmobiles, cars, or all-terrain vehicles in all types of weather conditions.
