NOTICE
***************************

Women and Gender Equality Canada (WAGE) recognizes that persons with lived experiences can be extremely valuable in advocating for and supporting individuals and communities that are at the center of its mandate, including people who have experienced gender-based violence and 2SLGBTQI+ individuals. WAGE also recognizes that the nature of its work can be triggering. Therefore, we encourage candidates, and in particular those with lived experiences, to assess their readiness to take on the work at WAGE and understand that there are risks of being exposed to stories or information about such situations.

***************************
Representation matters!
***************************

Creating an environment where diverse perspectives are valued begins with self-declaration. Count yourself in and self-declare by identifying which employment equity group(s) you belong to. To learn more about the self-declaring, visit our website: https://www.canada.ca/en/services/jobs/opportunities/government/self-declaring-because-we-care.html

At WAGE, we are committed to providing a diverse, inclusive and barrier-free work environment. Having a strong and diverse workforce is one of our goals, and it starts with the hiring process.

We strive to establish bias-free selection and assessment practices that offer a level playing field for everyone, including candidates from employment equity or equity-seeking groups, such as Indigenous peoples, racialized groups, persons with disabilities, members of the 2SLGBTQI+ community, religious minorities, and women. To that end, the selection committee, when possible, will be representational of equity and equity-seeking communities, and each board member will have completed the Inclusive Hiring Practices for a Diverse Workforce training offered by the Canada School of Public Service on unconscious bias.

🔶Telework🔶
***************************

Now that we are no longer in a remote work situation, telework agreements are possible. WAGE seeks to be flexible, and telework agreements within Canada will be discussed with the hiring manager.
