The project relates to the transition from diesel to electric equipment in the Canadian mining sector. The student will work with a team of engineers and technicians to better understand energy use from mining mobile equipment. The work will entail data analysis, modeling, and possibly field work to gather data from diesel and battery electric vehicles at minesites.

A covering letter "Your cover letter should be no longer than 1000 words and demonstrate how you have experience or knowledge in statistical analysis, as well as estimating fuel and energy consumption for mining mobile equipment. Essential education:
- successfully completed a Bachelor of Engineering program at a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution
- currently enrolled or willing to enroll at Laurentian University in Sudbury ON as a full-time Master's degree student in Engineering specializing in mining, mechanical, mechatronics or other discipline relevant to the position.
*Note: Must be currently recognized as having full-time student status at Laurentian University, pending approval of acceptance or in the process of submitting your application. Proof of enrollment will be required prior to start date.
Experience:
- The student must have experience in statistical analysis.
Essential knowledge:
- Knowledge of mining mobile equipment.
- Knowledge of data analysis techniques.
- Knowledge of estimating fuel and energy consumption for mining mobile equipment.
Essential Abilities:
- Ability to work independently.

To be considered for Research Affiliate Program (RAP) work opportunities, you must meet the following criteria:
- Persons residing in Canada and Canadian citizens residing abroad.
- Be recognized as having full-time student status by the post-secondary academic institution at which you are currently

- Be the minimum age to work in the province or territory where the job is located.
