Intent of the process

The immediate intent of this process is to fill 1 CT-FIN-01 position in Winnipeg, Manitoba on a temporary basis.

A pool of qualified candidates (fully assessed or partially assessed) may be established and may be used to staff similar positions at this group and level in Calgary (Alberta), Edmonton (Alberta), Winnipeg (Manitoba), Saskatoon (Saskatchewan). In addition, this process may be used for various tenures (acting, indeterminate and term) within Transport Canada. As a result of the potential and possible use of the selection process and subsequent pool by hiring managers, we encourage all employees seeking this type of opportunity to apply.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Successful completion of two years of a post-secondary program with specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or economics.

Degree equivalency

Recent Experience* working in at least one of the following areas:
1. Accounting Operations
2. Financial Planning, Budgeting and Reporting
3. Providing Client Service

*Recent Experience is defined as follows : Experience associated with having performed a broad range of related activities acquired within the last 5 years.

Recent* and significant** experience in using Microsoft Excel

* Recent is defined as within the last 5 years.
** Significant is defined as 2 or more years in duration.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or economics.

Degree equivalency

Eligibility for, or possession of a recognized professional accounting designation (i.e. CPA).

Experience in using the Oracle Financial System.

Experience using advance features of Microsoft Excel such as pivot tables and Power BI.

Experience using Web Intelligence or SAP Financial Systems.
