Duties

Primary responsibilities include:
• Regularly visit RCMP facilities to assess the performance of the service providers, and prepare space optimization plans and strategies, and floor plans.
• Coordinate tenant space projects and liaise with stakeholders during renovations.
• Participate in project teams and working groups including Accommodation Committees to address space strategies.
• Maintain effective communication with stakeholders.

Work environment

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) is looking for talented and skilled individuals in Property management to join our dynamic team. The Facilities & Accommodations Coordinator assists in the management of Divisional Headquarters and other RCMP facilities in the Atlantic Region to ensure tenants are satisfied, current and planned tenant space requirements are met and the appropriate Federal, Provincial and Municipal Acts and Regulations are followed. The facilities may be leased from other Federal Government departments, the Province, local municipalities or Private Sector landlords. The positions advertised are in the Real Property section of the Corporate Management Branch.

Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff one permanent vacancy in Fredericton, NB and one temporary vacancy in St. John's, NL (up to 2 years with a possibility of permanent staffing).

A qualified pool of candidates may be established to staff temporary, indeterminate or acting positions in Fredericton, NB, St John's, NL and Dartmouth, NS.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Information regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

Degree equivalency

EXP.1 Experience working in the field of facilities management, property management and/or real property project management
EXP.2 Experience in analyzing and defining workspace accommodation needs.

EXP.3 Experience working in a client-based service environment and providing service directly to clients

EXP.4 Experience developing and maintaining external partnerships or collaborative relationships with stakeholders such as contractors, landlords and other 3rd party service providers

*Experience refers to a depth & breadth of experience associated with full time performance of the duties for a period of at least one year.

ASSET EDUCATION

AED.1 Successful completion of approved post-secondary training in Property Management, Business Administration or a related field.

AED.2 Professional Real Property Designation or other related professional designation: Certified Property Manager (CPM), Real Property Administrator (RPA), Facilities Management Administrator (FMA), Certified Facilities Manager (CFM), Certified Leasing Officer (CLO), Project Management Professional, Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) etc.

Degree equivalency

ASSET EXPERIENCE:

AE.1 Experience planning, developing or managing accommodations, property or infrastructure programs

AE.2 Experience in using computer-aided drafting software (eg: developing and/or manipulating floorplans)

AE.3 Experience in developing workplace design, space planning or furniture specification tools or standards
