Looking for an opportunity to be part of a small team of classification enthusiasts whose client service is at the heart of their work? Join the PBC Centre of Expertise - Classification Team!

As a Classification Specialist, you will have the opportunity to:

- Deliver operational services in organizational design and classification to management and executives from all programs and national operations;

- Participate in the implementation of corporate classification projects and Treasury Board Secretariat (TBS) classification renewal initiatives;

- Work alongside colleagues from the Human Resources section, using an integrated approaches which focuses on a client centric experience, and contribute to the achievement of PBC's strategic agenda and operational goals.

The Parole Board of Canada (PBC) is a small independent administrative tribunal with an impactful mandate. The PBC contributes to public safety through the gradual, timed and controlled release of offenders back into society. Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to fill (1) a term PE-03 position for a period of two (2) years, with the possibility of extension. This position may eventually be filled on an indeterminate basis.

Note that the work location is in Ottawa. However, to promote inclusion and work-life balance, teleworking may be an option for a person living in a distant region or with mobility restrictions.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION:

ED1. Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in human resources management, labour or industrial relations, psychology, public or business administration, organizational development, education sciences, social sciences, sociology, or in any other field relevant to the work to be performed; OR

An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience, that is comparable to a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization relevant to the work to be performed, may serve as an alternative to meet the minimum education standard. Whenever the minimum education standard is met through this alternative, it is met only for the position being staffed, and candidates must be re-assessed for future appointments or deployments where the manager has decided to use this alternative.

ED2. Treasury Board Secretariat (TBS) Classification Accreditation. Individuals who hold an Accreditation from a Core Public Administration (CPA) organization prior to July 1, 2015 could be considered.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

EX1. Experience in classifying positions;
EX2. Experience writing classification rationales;
EX3. Experience in providing advice on organization and classification.

EXPERIENCE:

AEX1. Experience in using the evaluation plan for positions in the Executive Group (EX).
