Are you looking for a challenging and dynamic job in which you can make a difference in the lives of Canadians? A job at the CRTC might be of interest to you.
The CRTC is an administrative tribunal of approx. 600 employees that operates at arm’s length from the federal government; nonetheless, the CRTC’s employees are employees of the federal public service. Led by our Chairperson, with the support of Vice-chairpersons and regional Commissioners, we are dedicated to ensuring that Canadians have access to a world-class communication system that promotes innovation and enriches their lives. Our role is to implement the laws and regulations set by Parliamentarians who create legislation and departments that set policies. We regulate and supervise broadcasting and telecommunications in the public interest. For more information, please consult our website at https://crtc.gc.ca/eng/acrtc/organ.htm.
As recently published in an article in the Hill Times, the CRTC is ranked in the top 10 best places to work for in the federal public service, according to the 2022-2023 Public Service Employee Survey.
One of the CRTC’s mandates is to ensure its policies reflect Canadian creative talent, the special place of Indigenous peoples, our linguistic duality, our multicultural diversity in our society and our social values.
One of the added benefits of joining the CRTC is working in an environment where analysts are well-supported by management, but also benefit from a high level of autonomy and from a direct access to decision makers.
CO Development Program:
The CRTC has a CO development program which aims to promote excellence among CO-01 employees by providing learning opportunities and mentoring with the ultimate goal of having a pool of qualified CO-02 analysts ready for promotion at the CRTC. By joining the CRTC as a CO-01 analyst, you will be able to join the CO development program after successfully completing the 12-month probationary period in the federal public service, if it has not already been completed, and after receiving a successful rating in your performance assessment. This program makes the CRTC an ideal employer for ambitious employees that are eager to learn and aspiring to grow.
A pool of qualified candidates will be established to staff similar positions within the CRTC with various tenures (specified period or indeterminate positions), various security clearance levels and/or various language requirements.

Responses will not be considered satisfactory if you simply state that you have the required qualifications or provide a list of current or past responsibilities or paraphrase the qualifications.
Your responses to the screening questions will be used as the primary source to determine if you meet the screening requirements. If you do not fully complete the screening questions as instructed, you may be screened out. The resume you have sent with your initial application will be used only if the Assessment Board considers it needs to validate the information provided in this questionnaire.
Each question is divided into two parts. The first part consists of a simple question requiring a YES or NO answer. If your answer is “yes”, the second part will ask to fully demonstrate how you obtained this qualification.
