Duties

Key Activities
1. Receives and coordinates / processes applications for a variety of Civil Aviation Documents (CADs) and ensures that information submitted is complete, soliciting additional information as required.
2. Prepares correspondence, CADs, and/or other technical materials submitted for approval or signature.
3. Receives candidates, determines eligibility, collects fees if applicable, and invigilates written exams in the office and in the field; marks the exams and prepares associated correspondence, in accordance with regulations; and updates and maintains supporting materials for exams.
4. Provides help desk support, information and guidance to clients utilizing TC's online services.
5. Provides support to the Service Team and to other Civil Aviation activities / areas – this includes, but is not limited to, ordering supplies, receiving funds, and preparing requests for refunds and invoices.
6. Interprets and enters data into technical databases and workflow tracking systems, either manually or through scanning and imaging; verifies accuracy; coordinates workflow; and follows up as required.
7. Supports electronic and hard-copy document management; provides mailing and associated distribution services; and assists in monitoring calendar and/or email activities.
8. Responds verbally or in writing to inquiries from internal and external clients, and/or redirects inquiries to the appropriate source.
9. Integrates, promotes and supports governmental, departmental and Civil Aviation key priorities, commitments and initiatives within the Service Team structure.

Work environment

🚗 Since April 1, 2023, all federal employees are required to work from a Government of Canada workplace at least two to three times per week, or 40 to 60% of their regular schedule. At Transport Canada (TC), this means we work at a worksite at least eight days during a four-week period. Worksites include, but are not limited to, spaces such as TC approved worksites and collaborative spaces; Locations where TC inspectors conduct their work inspections or locations of stakeholder activities and meetings as well as Government of Canada touchdown and collaborative spaces.

Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff one (1) permanent position. A pool of qualified candidates could be established from this process and may be used to fill similar positions within Transport Canada, Quebec region, with various tenures.
