The minimum standard is:
Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.
Notes:
Indeterminate incumbents of positions in the IT Group on 09/12/2021 who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT Group.
Indeterminate incumbents of positions in the CS group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.
At the manager’s discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum education stated above. Whenever the minimum education is met using this alternative, it is met for the specific position only and must be reassessed for other positions for which this alternative has been specified by the manager.
Essential Experience:
EX1: Recent* and significant** experience in leading the planning and delivery of complex*** projects, initiatives, services or activities in one of the following areas:
o Data Warehousing
o Data Engineering
o Data Management
o Business Analytics
o Data Science
o Artificial Intelligence/ Machine Learning
o Cloud Application Development
EX2: Recent* and significant** experience in formulating and presenting analysis and recommendations to senior management (director level and above) on Information Management or Information Technology issues.
EX3: Significant** experience in human resource management including supervision and performance management.
EX4: Significant** experience in financial management, such as: forecasting exercises, cost center budgeting, project costing, tracking burn rate of consulting resources, tracking employees time charged against project(s) or verifying financial system reports against allocated funding.
Definitions:
* Recent is defined as the experience normally acquired within the last five (5) years.
** Significant experience is understood to mean the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of complex related activities for approximately five (5) years. A shorter duration may be considered based on demonstrated complexity and diversity of work handled, scope of work, and/or level of direct responsibility for a wide variety of complex files and/or projects.
*** Complex projects involving two or more of the following: high-impact to the clients, high media visibility, involving external stakeholders, department-wide multiple clients, coordinating multiple teams, new product introduction or high technology risk.

AE5: Microsoft Azure or Amazon AWS
AE6: Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP)
AE7: Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP);
AE8: Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
AE9: Any other certifications in a specialty relevant to IM/IT.
Asset Experience:
AEX1: Experience establishing and maintaining partnerships with internal or external business stakeholders.
AEX2: Experience with Agile frameworks (for example, Scrum, Kanban) and tools (for example, Azure DevOps or Jira)
AEX3: Experience with Continuous Improvement/Continuous Development (CI/CD) pipelines.
AEX4: Experience working with Microsoft Azure services such as Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, Azure Cognitive Services, and Azure OpenAI.
AEX5: Experience in creating and maintaining technical documentation, for example, design documents, technical specifications, deployment guidelines, and test cases.
AEX6: Experience with test-driven development (TDD) practices and Git workflows.
Operational Requirements:
Willingness and ability to work overtime on short notice.
Willingness and ability to travel on occasion.
