📌 Workplace: Successful candidates will be required to work at the work location in a hybrid work mode, requiring a minimum of 40% attendance at either the Halifax, NS office (1505 Barrington Street) or the Moncton, NB office (33 Weldon Street). A part-time telework agreement may be discussed and implemented at the time of hiring in accordance with the operational needs of the position to be filled.

Intent of the process

The immediate intent of this selection process is to staff one vacant position as a Policy Analyst.

This process will be used to establish a pool of qualified candidates and it may be used to staff similar or identical position at Indigenous Services Canada with various tenure, location, linguistic profiles, conditions of employment and security requirements.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology or statistics*.

*Candidates must always have a degree. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
**An indeterminate incumbent of a former ES position on June 30, 1967 who became an EC on June 22, 2009, who does not possess the minimum level of education as indicated for Part A above is deemed to meet this minimum educational standard based on his/her education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
Experience* analyzing and synthesizing information to develop policy or planning options and recommendations for improved program administration.
Experience* in establishing and maintaining stakeholders** networks to facilitate the exchange of information for improved program administration.
Experience* in leading components of projects/studies/evaluations involving collaboration with stakeholders**.
Experience* planning and facilitating meetings or events.

*Experience is the applicant’s employment experience over at least one year of activities.
**Stakeholders are individuals from various organizations who are served by the applicant‘s employer or who share in serving the same clients as the applicant’s employer.

ASSET EDUCATION
Graduation with an advanced degree (Master's or PhD) from a recognized post-secondary institution in a field relevant to the position.

ASSET EXPERIENCE
Experience working with indigenous organizations, communities, and/or clients.
Experience in the provision of analysis-based advice to senior management.
Experience in creating operational and/or strategic plans for program administration.
