In order to comply with the Official Languages Act, the Program Manager – Official Languages, will communicate with and offer services to Francophone organizations in French. Francophone organizations represent 95% of the program’s client base; consequently, the Program Manager – Official Languages works in French (reading, writing and speaking) the majority of their workday.
As the Program Manager – Official Languages in Alberta, British Columbia, and the Yukon, you and your team will:
1. Support for the development and vitality of Francophone communities across Western Region (for example, by coordinating the delivery of funding programs).
2. Collaborate with other orders of government to discuss the services offered to the Francophone communities.
3. Liaise with other federal institutions to support interdepartmental coordination on official languages issues.

EDUCATION
1. A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives (see Note).
Note:
The employer-approved alternatives to a secondary school diploma are:
-A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or
-An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE
1. Experience in managing human and financial resources.
2. Experience in presenting recommendations on complex issues to senior level decision makers.
3. Experience in developing and maintaining results-based partnerships with stakeholders from the private, public or voluntary sectors.
4. Experience in delivering or receiving funding through a granting program.
Bilingual - Imperative (CCC/CCC)

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
1. Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.
2. Experience in administering a governmental grants and contributions program.

4. Experience working with official languages minority community organizations.
5. Experience working with racialized communities.
