Duties

We are currently looking for dynamic and motivated individuals to fill the position of Case Review Officer (AS-02) in the Ontario/Nunavut Region office in Kingston, Ontario. This position plays a key role in ensuring that all available, relevant information is on file for decision-makers and that timeframes and other requirements set out in law and policy are met with respect to Parole Board decisions.

This position requires strong oral and communication skills to :
- prepare correspondence;
- respond to telephone inquiries; and
- provide advice and guidance to decision-makers.

Case Review Officers spend the majority of their time reading offender files to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Intent of the process

The position location is Kingston, Ontario. There is a possibility of telework but there is requirement to be on-site regularly .

This is an anticipatory process to establish a pool of qualified candidates to staff similar positions of various tenures, language profile and locations within the Parole Board of Canada.

EDUCATION
A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives (see Note 1).

o An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
E1: Experience in providing advice, guidance or support to management or clients on policies and procedures.
E2: Experience in gathering and reviewing information in accordance with procedural guidelines.
E3: Experience in ensuring accuracy and completeness of information in documents or files.

ASSET EDUCATION
AE: Diploma or graduation from a recognized post-secondary institution with an acceptable specialization in criminology, psychology or in a field relevant to the position.

Degree equivalency

AE2: Experience working in the criminal justice system.
