Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff two (2) positions with various linguistic requirements.

A pool of partially or fully qualified candidates may be established from this selection process and may be used to staff similar positions with various tenures, various linguistic profiles as well as various security clearances within the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION :

Graduation from a two-year program from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another speciality relevant to the position to be staffed.

Note:
1. Indeterminate incumbents in the IT group on December 9, 2021, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.

2. Indeterminate incumbents of positions in the CS group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.
3.
An acceptable* combination of education, training and/or experience, may serve as an alternative to the minimum education stated above. Whenever the minimum education is met using this alternative, it is met for the specific position only and must be re-assessed for other positions for which this alternative has been specified by the manager.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE :

EXP1: Significant*experience in one or more of the following IT/IM disciplines:
· UX
· IT project management

EXP2: Experience implementing IM/IT plans to achieve the objectives of the client or management.

EXP3: Experience in writing and/or presenting IT materials for a senior audience (manager, director or above).

EXP4: Experience participating in group planning session while leading and/or facilitating some discussion to achieve the development of IT solutions.

ASSET EDUCATION:

Graduation with a degree or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in the fields of UX, project management, or another relevant specialization. (Proof of active pursuit of degree or diploma is acceptable.)
A certification in UX or Project management from a recognized post-secondary institution or recognized professional association. (Proof of active pursuit of certification is acceptable.)

👉 Asset qualifications could be used at any stage of the process, including the screening stage. If you meet any of the asset experiences, it is to your advantage to demonstrate this in your application.

Timelines for this process are very strict. The onus is on candidates to make themselves available for each assessment session. Scheduling of alternative assessment dates will ONLY be considered for the following reasons with proof:
• Religious reasons;
• Death in the family;
• Medical reasons;
• Planned travel;
• Conflicting exams; or
• Other exceptional circumstances

Qualifications for this selection process may be assessed and/or validated throughout the selection process effective from the time you submit your application. This includes any correspondence (written or oral) with Human Resources and Management.
Candidates must provide proof of education credentials later in the process.
