The intent of this process is to establish a pool of qualified candidates for future needs. The pool may be used to staff similar positions on a permanent (indeterminate) or temporary basis (specified period).

A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives (see Note 1).
Note 1:
The employer-approved alternatives to a secondary school diploma are:
• A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or
• An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Significant* experience in conducting inspections** or auditing a management system***.
Experience in writing detailed reports****.
Experience in conducting data analysis, as part of regular work duties.
*Significant is defined as at least two (2) years of experience that is a core part of work responsibilities.
**Inspections are defined as the actions undertaken to examine, verify, and determine whether an activity, an object, or location is in compliance with the applicable acts, standards, or regulations. It does not include administrative or financial verification, investigation, or eligibility assessment.
***Auditing of a management system is defined as documented activity performed to verify, by examination and evaluation of objective evidence, that applicable elements of the system are appropriate and effective and have been developed, documented, and implemented in accordance and in conjunction with specified requirements.
****Detailed reports must be written by the candidate and not be a system-generated template such as a checklist or a form to complete.

*Audit activities include but are not limited to: planning, coordinating, conducting, reporting, and following up on audits.

Ability and willingness to use various types of personal protective equipment.
Reliability status security clearance.
Possession of a valid provincial or territorial driver’s licence.
Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional overtime, as required.
Ability and willingness to travel within Canada using all modes of transportation, as required.

In assessing candidates, assessment boards may use a variety of tools and methods including, but not limited to, reviews of past performance and accomplishments, written tests, interviews, PSC tests and reference checks. In addition, all information obtained throughout the selection process, from the time of application to close of process, may be used to evaluate the candidates.
As part of this selection process you must provide proof of your education credentials. You will be advised to provide the documents later in the process. If you were educated outside of Canada, you must have your certificates and/or diplomas assessed against Canadian education standards. This will enable you to provide proof of Canadian equivalency when applying for a job in the public service. The Canadian Information Centre for International Credentials (CICIC) assists persons who wish to obtain an assessment of their educational, professional, and occupational credentials by referring them to the appropriate organizations The CICIC can be contacted at www.cicic.ca.
A random and/or top down selection of candidates may be used in the determination of those to be given further consideration in the assessment process.
