Duties

Geomatics Services provides expert advice and services for a variety of disciplines involved in the collection, management and analysis of location-based data related to buildings, infrastructure and properties.

As a Geomatics Specialist in the Ontario Region, you will offer advice and deliver virtual or in-person consultations and presentations to several stakeholders across Canada. PSPC’s Real Property Services manages one of the largest and most diverse portfolios of real estate in Canada, providing accommodation and other real property services to federal organizations. Real Property Services' mission is to create a high-performing, flexible public service that supports innovation, transformation and renewal—boldly going where the public service has never gone before.

Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to staff 1 position on an anticipatory basis. The location of the position is in Toronto. A full-time teleworking agreement could be considered from any location in Canada where a PSPC or Coworking GC office is accessible. A pool of fully qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions, within the Department of Public Services and Procurement Canada, with various security requirements and/or tenures.

PSPC has transitioned to a hybrid workplace that will see employees work on site at least 2–3 days each week, or 40–60% of their regular schedule. This may mean different mixes of working from home and from the office at different times. The co-working spaces and branch neighborhoods enable a workplace that allows for a purposeful presence in the office and room to collaborate. • Successful completion of a college/CEGEP diploma in Geomatics, architecture, land surveying, civil engineering, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) 𝗢𝗥 an acceptable combination of education, training and/𝗢𝗥 experience.

Degree equivalency

𝗘𝗦𝗦𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗜𝗔𝗟 𝗘𝗫𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗜𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗦:

• Experience delivering consultations and training sessions to multiple participants.

𝗦𝗣𝗔𝗖𝗘 𝗠𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗨𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗢𝗙 𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗟 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗧𝗜𝗘𝗦

• Experience working with the use of space measurement standards.

• Experience in developing documents aimed at the management of spatial & geospatial information throughout the life cycle of a building.

• Experience doing technical analysis and providing strategic advice and guidance on space measurements.

𝗕𝗜𝗠 & 𝗦𝗣𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗔𝗟 & 𝗚𝗘𝗢𝗦𝗣𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗔𝗟 𝗜𝗡𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗠𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗔𝗚𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧

• Experience working with national and international standards for GIS and BIM.

• Experience working with the management of spatial & geospatial information from BIM projects.

• Experience working in developing BIM project data quality monitoring instruction documents.
