The Records Classifier provides administrative and operational support services for police officers and other employees at the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Divisional Headquarters of Alberta. This position also provides front counter and telephone assistance to Head Quarters and detachments throughout Alberta. If you enjoy a range of activities, have great attention to detail and enjoy supporting clients within a team environment this job may be for you.
This is an anticipatory staffing process designed to create a pool of qualified candidates. The pool of qualified candidates may be used to staff similar positions with various tenures (i.e. indeterminate, term, and acting) within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Information regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

Successful completion of secondary school or an acceptable combination of education, training, and/or experience.
Recent* experience working with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
Experience working in a team environment to further the goal of an organization, project, business, etc.
Recent* experience in providing at least three (3) of the following records management services: indexing, cross-referencing, filing, retrieving, retaining, archiving and/or destroying data.
Definition: Recent* experience is defined as experience normally acquired within the past two (2) years.
Experience working in entering, tracking, extracting, and manipulating data into a database management system.**
Experience using with GCdocs, SharePoint, or MS365.
Experience using Police Reporting and Occurrence System (PROS) or Police Records Information Management Environment (PRIME).
**Note: Excel is not considered a database management system.
