CED has begun its Transition Plan to Hybrid Work. Intent of the process

This process will create a pool of qualified candidates within DEC. Our positions are located at our head office in downtown Montreal.

This process may be used to fill similar positions of varying durations (permanent and temporary) at various locations within CED.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION
Successful completion of two years of a post-secondary program with a specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or economics.

Or Possession of the Government of Canada Financial Management Certificate.

Notes
1. It is the educational institution that determines if the courses taken by a candidate correspond to two years of a post-secondary program at the institution.
2. The courses for the specialization must be taken in a recognized post-secondary institution but not necessarily within a post-secondary program in the required specialization.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
EXP1: Recent and significant* experience in at least one (1) of the following areas:
• Resource planning and resource management
• Financial Operations (accounting transactions)
• Cost Analysis
• Financial Systems
• Financial Reporting
• Audit
• Financial policies
• Internal controls
• Collection

EXP2: Experience using financial software or reporting tools.
EXP3: Experience in extracting, compiling and analyzing financial data and preparing reports.
EXP4: Experience in providing financial services or advice.

Definition:
* Recent and significant experience refers to the depth and breadth of experience associated with performing a wide range of complex activities that normally related to the performance of duties for approximately (6 months) within the last three years where these activities were core to the job and therefore not casual or ad hoc.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS - EDUCATION
A1: Eligibility for a recognized professional accounting designation. The recognized professional accounting designations are Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and Certified General Accountant (CGA).
A2: Possess an accounting designation from a recognized professional association (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA).

Degree equivalency

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
A3: Experience in using SAP.
A4: Supporting experience in financial systems.
A5: Experience in using, modifying and manipulating data using Microsoft Excel at an advanced level (using Visual Basic for Applications, creating macros and using complex formulas).
A6: Experience in using Microsoft Power BI or other business intelligence or data analytics tools.
A7: Experience managing compliance and/or verification activities.
A8: Experience working in the federal government.
A9: Experience working in a federal government headquarters.
A10: Experience working at Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions.
A11: Experience working in accounting.
A12: Experience in financial planning, budgeting and costing.
A13: Experience working in accounts receivables.

Depending on the position being staffed, one or some of the qualifications below may be considered as essential for the job. This doesn't mean that you must possess all qualifications, but these criteria may be a deciding factor in choosing the persons to be appointed.
