Duties

➸ Facilitates the comprehensive delivery of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Program in an assigned Branch or Region (as applicable), through the conduct of operational research, risk analysis and development of Oversight / Inspection and Business plans. Continuous improvement of the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Program in an assigned Branch or Region. Leads through the coordination, integration and implementation on Integrated Management System (IMS) processes, procedures and tools, including performance reporting and internal quality assurance (QA) activities.

➸ Conducts regionally / branch focused internal and external environmental scans of industry initiatives and processes for business / operational planning, performance measurement and reporting matters, which may assist the TDG Program in achieving its objectives.

➸ Participates in the design and development of Branch / Regional operational and business processes and procedures, ensuring their coordination and integration within the Branch / Region and consistency with the National TDG Program.

➸ Leads / participates in national working groups and consultative processes and in the conduct of national, branch or regional internal QA assessments and follow-up activities, to achieve continuous improvement in the delivery of the TDG Program.

Work environment

🚗 Since April 1, 2023, all federal employees are required to work from a Government of Canada workplace at least two to three times per week, or 40 to 60% of their regular schedule. At Transport Canada (TC), this means we work at a worksite at least eight days during a four-week period. Worksites include, but are not limited to, spaces such as TC approved worksites and collaborative spaces; Locations where TC inspectors conduct their work inspections or locations of stakeholder activities and meetings as well as Government of Canada touchdown and collaborative spaces.

Intent of the process

This selection process is for an indeterminate position of Quality Control and Integrated Data Governance Analyst in Dorval, Quebec. The appointee should be able to work from the Dorval office at least two to three times per week, or 40-60% of their normal work schedule.

This process is also intended to establish a pool of substantially or partially qualified candidates to meet our current and future needs and may be used to staff similar positions at Transport Canada for which tenure, language requirements and security requirements can vary.

2. Experience in preparing and maintaining records, reports, and/or statistics related to operational information.

3. Experience in managing or coordinating projects.

4. Experience in providing advice and making recommendations to management.

5. Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Word, MS Outlook and MS Excel (for example: performing calculations, creating tables and creating graphs).

4. Experience working in an environment with shifting priorities and tight deadlines.
