Duties vary position to position but may include various administrative tasks such as preparing correspondence, reports, answering emails and telephone calls, maintaining databases, completing reports, and submitting forms.
Hybrid and flexible work arrangements – a combination of on-site and teleworking may be possible, depending on the position to be staffed.
A pool of qualified candidates will be established within Transport Canada and will be used to staff similar positions with various tenures, various security profiles or various linguistic requirements.

ED: A secondary school diploma OR an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
EX1: Experience* in providing clerical support services. (e.g., reception, managing office supplies, data entry, filing, processing mail,etc.)
EX2: Experience* in providing client services delivery in person or by telephone or electronically.
EX3: Experience* in working with word processing, spreadsheet, and emailing software (such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook).
*Experience can be obtained through a combination of work, education, and/or volunteering
A1: Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
A2: Ability to communicate effectively orally.
Depending on the position being staffed, one or more of the following asset qualifications may be deemed as an essential qualification and only candidates and persons with a priority entitlement who possess those qualifications will be considered for that specific vacancy.
AED: A post-secondary certificate and/or degree from a recognized post-secondary institution relevant to the position to be staffed.
AEX1: Experience maintaining a system of tracking budget expenditures.
AEX2: Experience coordinating travel arrangements and travel expense claims.
AEX3: Experience in providing administrative support services in Finance or Accounting.
AEX4: Experience providing support services in Information Management.
AEX5: Experience in Fleet Management.
AEX6: Experience working in any safety and security transportation mode at Transport Canada (ex. Aviation, Surface, and Marine).
AEX7: Experience in researching various policies and processes.

ASSESSMENT – REFERENCE CHECKS
Those selected for assessment should be prepared to provide the names and contact information of references.
References must be available, have an in-depth knowledge of your work/projects, and must be able to answer specific questions pertaining to your experience, achievements and strengths.
When providing names of references, it is the candidate’s responsibility to ensure they are available to respond in a timely manner.
Preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
