Reporting to the Senior Executive Director, Finance and Corporate Services and as part of the senior management team, this position is an integral part of our senior leadership team. The Director, Information Management, Information Technology and Business Systems is accountable for strategic corporate leadership and operational delivery of Information Technology. This includes:
▸ Providing strategic direction for the use of information technology in the agency in a way that enhances/enables the agency to meet its strategic objectives and operational goals;
▸ Directing the corporate IM/IT division, by managing its financial and human resources;
▸ Planning, developing, providing, and maintaining cost-effective and secure application systems to the agency;
▸ Providing authoritative IT strategic and operational advice, guidance, options, and recommendations to senior management;
▸ Contributing to the agency’s short and long term strategic and operational plans;
▸ Establishing and maintaining a collaborative partnership with PrairiesCan and other service providers in the areas of IM/IT and Business Systems.

At PacifiCan, we enjoy a hybrid work model. PacifiCan offices are open environments with well-regulated air quality, ergonomic sit/stand workstations, and a combination of natural and fluorescent lighting. The physical demands of this position includes spending a significant amount of time working on a computer.
Currently, this process will be used to staff one position on a temporary basis. A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions in PacifiCan with various tenures, work locations, language requirements and conditions of employment.

Education:
ED1: Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.
Experience:
EX1: Significant* experience leading the delivery of Information Technology (IT) projects with multiple stakeholders.
EX2: Significant* experience in the development and/or implementation of IT strategies or initiatives to support the management of programs or operational activities.
EX3: Significant* experience in providing strategic advice to senior officials on complex issues (such as policies, programs, legislation, issues management).
EX4: Significant* experience in building and maintaining collaborative relationships with a variety of internal and external partners to advance business priorities and objectives.
EX5: Experience managing financial and human resources.
*“Significant” is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with the performance of duties for approximately two (2) years.

Asset Experience:
AEX1: Experience managing staff remotely or in a matrix environment.

AEX4: Experience in developing and implementing a framework and approach to multi-party, collaborative research and assessment projects.
