Are you an experienced technical analyst looking to make a meaningful contribution and lend your expertise to help shape support of our frontline members? We are looking for well-rounded IT Analysts who will partner with a variety of stakeholders ranging from various ranks of uniformed members, project coordinators, internal support services and external partner agencies.
As an IT Analyst within J Division’s Business Line Solutions, you will:
- Engage a broad set of stakeholders and collaborate with various levels of the organization on IT related projects
- Direct the development of business solutions and systems requirements through detailed analysis and recommendations
- Work with business units to analyze and design potential technical solutions and communicate proposed recommendations
- Work closely with project teams, participate in implementation of technical solutions and support gating into operations.
- Participate in various local and national working groups as required to further advance deployment of technological solutions.

The immediate need is to staff two positions on an indeterminate basis.
A pool of qualified candidates may be established to staff similar temporary, and/or permanent position (including acting appointments and deployments).
Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.

*Recent and **significant experience in an IT support role analyzing and troubleshooting IT related issues within an enterprise environment

Asset Qualifications:
- Experience supporting physical IT infrastructure (Servers, network switches, storage, cabling)
- Experience supporting layered applications (i.e. MS SQL, SharePoint, Power BI, etc…)
- Experience designing and developing reports and dashboards to meet organizational requirements
- Experience creating technical documentation, infrastructure diagrams and or process maps
- Experience in leading or participating in technology security assessments

Operational Requirements:
- This position is located in a law enforcement environment and includes regular contact with uniformed and armed police officers
- The work requires prolonged periods of sensory effort such as listening, reading or reviewing data or documentation
- The work requires sitting for prolonged periods while writing reports, work plans, presentations, participating in meetings and conference calls
- The work involves time pressures, changing and unpredictable priorities and multiple demands
- The work requires sitting in a typical open office environment resulting in distractions from office conversations, telephones and interruptions from colleagues
Top Secret security clearance - of the RCMP.
