Assessment accommodation

Duties

Key activities:
1. Collects information on the non-academic activities of the Canadian Coast Guard College learners through observation, research, and consultation and provides input on strategies, policies, and improvement to the Officer Training Program (OTP).
2. Provides information to the Superintendent of the Officer Cadets, and Liaison Officers about CCGC learners and their activities as well as spot checks the cleanliness and maintenance of Officer Cadet and other student cabin, clusters, rooms, and common areas, recommending corrective action to as required.
3. Assists Liaison Officers with assigned tasks and responsibilities, administers discipline, and supervises Officer Cadets and other learners in the performance of their daily routines and extra duties, representing the authority of the College on evenings and weekends.
4. Acts as Duty Driver, transporting visitors to and from the College, as well as driving Officer Cadets and other students to medical appointments, outpatient clinics, and examinations to aid in the fulfillment of personal medical needs and College requirements.

The Canadian Coast Guard College is a national maritime training facility located on scenic Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. It’s a national college that provides training and services in French and English. It delivers programs to support the College’s mission and mandate in marine safety, security and environmental protection.

The college’s unique and specialized training is sought after by organizations around the world. Each year, highly trained graduates join their colleagues as Coast Guard officers to provide services that are critical to Canadians.

Education:
A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives

Degree equivalency

Experience:
• Experience in conducting the uniform training protocol
• Experience in resolving complaints, anticipating/detecting incidents and finding solutions.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Experience:
• Experience as a military style drill instructor.
• Recent* experience working in a university or academic setting.

*Recent experience: usually associated with two years of experience.
