Intent of the process

The intent of this advertisement is to staff two (2) positions on an indeterminate basis.

A partially assessed pool will be created and may be used to staff similar positions at an identical or equivalent group and level with various linguistic requirements, tenures, locations or security level within the Administrative Tribunals Support Service of Canada (ATSSC). Federal organizations listed in Schedules I, IV and V of the Financial Administration Act (FAA) may use this selection process to appoint a candidate to a similar position within their organization.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION
ED1: Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution or an acceptable level of education and experience related to the different position of mediator and dispute resolution officer or specialist.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
EX1: A minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of labour relations or staffing, including the mediation, negotiation, or the investigation of various types of complaints or disputes.

EX2: Experience in negotiating settlements between opposing parties through direct negotiation or mediation.

EX3: Experience in writing reports to management.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
The following criteria may be applied at the screening stage or at a later date.

AED1: Certificate(s) for a minimum of 75 hours of training in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) processes including mediation.

AEX1: Experience in working for a Bargaining Agent.
AEX2: Experience as a key player in collective bargaining.
AEX3: Experience in the delivery of training programs.

ORGANIZATIONAL NEEDS

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be available to work extended hours on short notice.
