We are committed to providing an inclusive and barrier-free work environment, starting with the hiring process. If you need to be accommodated during any phase of the evaluation process, please use the Contact information below to request specialized accommodation. All information received in relation to accommodation will be kept confidential.
It is your responsibility, as a candidate, to clearly demonstrate that you meet each of the screening criteria. Please note that it is not sufficient to state that you meet the required qualifications, or to list your current qualifications. It is necessary to provide concrete examples that demonstrate how you meet the requirements. If you do not provide sufficient examples and details, your application may be rejected because the assessment committee will not have the necessary information to determine whether you meet the qualifications or not. Your résumé will only be used to confirm your employment history and will not be used to complete your answers to the screening and text questions. You will also need to provide references that will allow us to validate the information you provide for each of the essential and asset experiences.
Should there be a large number of applicants, asset qualifications could be invoked. Therefore, if candidates have one (or many) of the asset qualifications, candidates should also describe in their answers how they meet this (these) qualification(s) following the instructions provided for each question.

CSC is responsible for managing institutions of various security levels and supervising offenders under conditional release in the community.
OUR MISSION
The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC), as part of the criminal justice system and respecting the rule of law, contributes to public safety by actively encouraging and assisting offenders to become law-abiding citizens, while exercising reasonable, safe, secure and humane control.

By default and in the interest of the greater public service, pools created as a result of this process will be shared with other government departments. Information on employment equity
Candidates must clearly demonstrate in their responses that they meet the essential education and experience qualifications. It is NOT sufficient to only state that the qualifications are met or to provide a listing of current or past responsibilities. Rather you must clearly demonstrate HOW, WHEN, and WHERE the qualification was met through substantiation by examples. Information on your described skills, experience, etc. provided in the screening questions should be supported by your resume. Failure to provide sufficient information will result in the candidate being screened out and rejected from the process.
We may assess the essential and asset qualifications using interviews, written tests (take home assignments or other), references or a combination of these or other assessment methods. Other sources of information (such as performance agreements, work samples, board member knowledge, etc.) may be used to assess the criteria identified on the Statement of Merit Criteria.
Please identify clearly for which position(s) you are submitting an application.
An assignment, secondment, or acting appointment requires approval of your supervisor.
You must be able to provide proof of your education credentials.

For appointment processes where the area of selection was limited to Aboriginal peoples or to members of designated employment equity groups that included Aboriginal peoples, the Aboriginal candidates proposed for appointment or appointed must complete and sign the Affirmation of Aboriginal Affiliation Form as a condition of appointment prior to or at the same time as the offer of appointment, even if they have already self-declared as an EE member when applying.
A random and/or top down selection of candidates may be used in the determination of those to be given further consideration in the assessment process.
For this selection process, we will communicate with you by email. You must provide a valid email address to which you wish to receive communication regarding this selection process. It is your responsibility to inform of any change of address, telephone number and/or email address. You must ensure to check/view your email accounts including spam, promotion or other folders regularly as there may be a deadline for responses. Candidates who respond past the deadline risk being removed from the selection process.
