The position is responsible for the application of the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act.
Looking for a dynamic individual with interest in reviewing documents to support the organization’s commitment to open government. In doing so, the incumbent will join a dedicated team committed to the effective and timely application of legislation and policy to better inform Canadians on functioning of its government.
Although the immediate intent of this Job Opportunity Advertisement is to staff indeterminately, applicants should be aware that a pool of qualified candidates (fully assessed or partially assessed) may be established and may be used to staff similar positions at this group and level with various language requirements listed in the Language Requirements section. EDUCATION
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution or an acceptable combination of education, training, and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE
Experience liaising with and providing information or advice to internal or external clients.
Experience preparing correspondence, such as emails and letters to the public, interested stakeholders or management.
Experience analyzing, researching, and interpreting sensitive* information in order to provide advice to management.
Significant** experience applying and interpreting provisions of legislation.
Significant** experience consulting with other departments, other levels of government
and third parties.

Recent and significant*** experience interpreting, applying, and administering the Access to Information Act or the Privacy Act.
Recent and significant*** experience working in an environment that processes a high volume of requests or information.
Recent and significant*** experience using specialty Access to Information and Privacy (ATIP) software.
Experience writing reports or briefing notes.
Experience consulting with legal stakeholders.
Experience in responding to and resolving complaints lodged with the Office of the Information Commissioner and/or the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Recent and significant*** experience conducting privacy impact assessments or other similar assessments.
Recent and significant*** experience managing privacy breaches.
Experience working on information sharing agreements involving personal information.
Experience managing projects.
Experience managing human resources.
Experience coaching and mentoring junior staff.
Experience drafting briefing material and/or verbally briefing senior management (Director General, Assistant Deputy Minister, or Minister).
