The Planning and Coordination Assistant supports the Atlantic Forestry Centre Managers and Researchers with various internal services which includes but are not limited to:
- Providing, initiating and coordinating general administrative services pertaining to procurement, travel, and the on-boarding of new employees
- obtaining and exchanging information with administrative and other colleagues within and outside the CFS.
- Developing, maintaining databases, spreadsheets and consolidating information
The ideal candidate will :

- Work well independently and as part of a team.
The intent of this process is to staff one (1) determinate position located in Fredericton, New Brunswick.
A pool of fully or partially qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar positions within Natural Resources Canada with various tenures (determinate period or indeterminate), various language requirements, various security requirements, various conditions of employment and for various locations.

Education:
A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives (see Note 1).

A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or
An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience
Experience:
EX1 Experience in general office administration.
EX2 Recent* experience in using automated office systems such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Outlook.
EX3 Experience managing the flow of correspondence (for example receiving, analyzing, processing and tracking correspondence, reports, electronic messages, or other documents).
EX4 Experience in inputting, retrieving, and maintaining data in a database environment.
* For the purposes of this selection process, recent is defined as having acquired the experience in the past 5 years
Asset Qualifications:
EX 1 Experience with human resource administrative processes.
EX 2 Experience in administrative support related to finance.
EX 3 Experience in making travel arrangements and processing travel expense claims.
EX 4 Experience with on-line processes, databases and tools such as SAP, GCDOCS, HRG/STS Travel, PeopleSoft, MyGCHR.
K1 Knowledge of the processes related to making travel arrangements and processing travel claims.

Based on operational requirements, this position requires:
