📌 Workplace:
The official workplace for the positions to be filled is located in Brantford, Ottawa, Thunder Bay, Toronto, Sioux Lookout and Sudbury. Successful candidates will be required to maintain a presence at an ISC-CIRNAC facility depending on the position to be staffed.

Note - Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) follows the direction from the Office of the Chief Human Resource Officer on the introduction of a common hybrid work model across the federal public service. Successful candidates will be required to work at the work site in a hybrid work model. A part-time telework agreement may be discussed and implemented at the time of hiring in accordance with the operational needs of the position to be filled.

Types of positions to be staffed include: Funding Services Officer, Senior Program Officer, Capital Management Officer, Program Policy Officer, Policy and Issues Analyst, Health Facilities Officer, Manager, Program Delivery, Regional Program Development Team Leader, Regional Senior Program Officer.

A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions with various linguistic profiles and/or requirements as well as tenures (Acting, Assignment, Deployment, Secondment, Determinate, and Indeterminate appointments) and/or security clearance (reliability or secret), which may vary according to the position being staffed. It may also be used to staff identical or similar positions by other regions or federal departments across Canada.

EDUCATION
A high school diploma or employer-approved alternatives (see Note 1).

Note 1:
The employer-approved alternatives to a secondary school diploma are:
- A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or
- An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience related to the work to be performed*

*An acceptable combination of education, training and experience is defined related to the work to be performed as two or more of the following:
• At least two (2) years of high school education.
• Training courses/on-the-job training relevant to the position being staffed.
• A minimum of two (2) years of experience relevant to the position being staffed.

Candidates who already meet both of the following criteria must be accepted as meeting the secondary school diploma requirement:

Experience working in a field related to the scope of the program (e.g. mental health or addictions, health promotion, public health, early childhood development, environmental public health, Indigenous affairs, Jordan's Principle, community infrastructure not including operations and maintenance etc.).

9. Experience managing a portfolio and/or making a decision to whether applicants are eligible to meet program initiatives such as but not limited to approval for funding, supports and/or services.

*** Human resources management is defined as direct accountability for directing and managing staff. Examples of managing HR may include implementing HR strategies to ensure workforce capacity to meet operational needs, developing work plans, assigning work priorities, setting performance objectives and performance indicators to measure results, assessing performance, recruiting and resolving HR issues. - Willingness to travel to isolated and non-isolated communities using a variety of transportation, such as:small aircraft, boats, snowmobiles, cars, all-terrain vehicles in all weather conditions.

Conditions of employment

Various Security Clearance: Reliability, Secret.

Note - Applicants who have not lived in Canada for the past five (or ten, depending on security level) years may be required to submit a police certificate from each country in which they have lived for six months or more during this period, as well as other documentation required for the security screening process. Failure to submit this documentation if requested will eliminate the application from further consideration.

Managers may establish conditions of employment specific to the position being staffed. Candidates must meet and maintain the conditions of employment throughout their employment.

Preference will be given to veterans first and then to Canadian citizens and permanent residents, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
