The Translation Bureau is a special operating agency that supports the Government of Canada in its efforts to serve Canadians in both official languages, foreign languages and Indigenous languages. The Translation Bureau’s Request Processing Centre has over 80 client advisors who manage the processing of translation requests, including Secret documents on a variety of topics of high importance to the government.
Main duties
• Analyze service requests and communicate with clients to confirm the nature of their request, specify their expectations and establish the project conditions.
• Distribute the work and identify the appropriate internal and external resources to effectively meet client needs within a reasonable timeframe.
• Prepare invoices for client service requests in a timely manner in accordance with operational policy and procedures.
• Manage translation projects.
• Prepare estimates.

The Translation Bureau acts as a Special Operating Agency within Public Services and Procurement Canada. Its mandate is to provide quality linguistic services in support of Parliament and federal departments and agencies. Translation, interpretation, and terminology services in both official languages, in sign languages and in more than 100 Aboriginal and foreign languages are at the heart of its activities. In carrying out its mandate, the Translation Bureau focuses on the adoption of innovative practices.
The intent of this process is to staff 10 positions on various tenures. A pool of fully or partially qualified candidates may be established to staff similar or identical positions within Public Services and Procurement Canada across Canada, with various language requirements and tenures.

Applicants must complete the Public Service Entrance Exam: Test of Judgement Unsupervised Internet Test as part of the screening for this selection process. This test assesses the judgement required for solving problems in work-related situations. You will have 75 minutes to complete the test. You must complete the test before you submit your application for this position.
