What will you be doing?

• Apply/verify a variety of financial coding and processing requirements; and to establish information;
• Review and verify financial transactions and investigate and clarify discrepancies;
• Resolve issues related to more complex contracting, hospitality, travel and relocation transactions.

Intent of the process

The intent of this selection process is to fill different vacant positions and to create a pool of qualified candidates to staff identical or similar positions at Environment and Climate Change Canada within various locations across Canada and with various linguistic profiles and requirements, security requirements and tenures.

EDUCATION:

•A high school diploma or employer-approved alternatives:

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

• Experience in providing financial support services in accounts payable and/or accounts receivable, such as but not limited to : processing invoices or travel claims, billing and preparing bank deposits, reconciling customer accounts or processing revenue related transactions;

• Experience in using a variety of basic software such as but not limited to : Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point;

• Experience of using database such as System, Applications and Products (SAP), Oracle, Free Balance for accounts payable and/or accounts receivable;

• Experience in providing support and/or customer service.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

EDUCATION (ASSET):

• Have completed at least one accounting course at the post-secondary level;

• Successful completion of two years of a post-secondary program with specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or economics; or hold the Financial Management Certificate from the Government of Canada.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE (ASSET):

• Work experience for a federal government department (including students, temporary help and casuals);

• Experience working with Shared Travel Services;

• Experience in document management (life cycle, retention and disposal of documents).
