Salary, Allowances, and Benefits:
In addition to salary, you are entitled to an isolated posts allowance. This can range from $19,833 to $27,387 per year, depending on the number of dependants, geographic location and whether the accommodation is provided by the Crown. You are also entitled to vacation travel allowance of approximately $1,000 once a year for you and each eligible dependant.
As a federal government employee, you will also receive a comprehensive benefit package including an employee pension plan and health, dental and group insurance.
Workplace and telework:
Employees must perform their duties from a government of Canada physical workplace at least 2-3 days each week, or 40-60% of their regular schedule. The workplace of the position to be filled is located in Yellowknife, NT. Successful candidates will be required to work at the work site in a hybrid work mode. A part-time telework agreement may be discussed and implemented at the time of hiring in accordance with the operational needs of the position to be filled.
The Engagement Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with all of our rights and stakeholders.
The position is part of a dynamic team involved on many fronts to further socio-economic and environmental interests of local communities. The Giant Mine Remediation Project (GMRP) is collaborating closely with local Indigenous groups, right holders and stakeholders while working with colleagues delivering on a complex and challenging remediation project. The work environment provides a unique opportunity to participate meaningfully in improving livelihood and ecological health in Yellowknife and the Northwest Territories. The position plays a key role in the GMRP. The Program Manager works closely with the Director and other Project Managers to support the delivery of the Project.
The Project's main objectives are to:
• minimize public and worker health and safety risks
• minimize the release of contaminants from the site to the surrounding environment
• remediate the site in a manner that instills public confidence
• implement a cost-effective and robust approach over the long term
The Project's primary goal is to protect human health and safety and the environment. This requires long-term containment and management of the arsenic trioxide waste and water treatment, as well as cleaning up the surface of the site. This makes the Giant Mine Remediation Project the largest and most dynamic remediation project in Canada!
Immediate need: One (1) full-time indeterminate position at Yellowknife, NT.
This process will be used to fill current vacancies and to establish a pool of qualified candidates for future opportunities (Deployment, Assignment, Secondment, Acting, Term or Indeterminate) in Northwest Territories only, with various security requirements (reliability or secret). Candidate information will not be shared with federal departments outside Northwest Territories to fill vacancies elsewhere across Canada.

• Graduation with a degree from a recognized university or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
