Our team is located at 1200 Vanier Parkway in Ottawa, Ontario.
The immediate need is to staff one position on an indeterminate basis, with an English essential linguistic profile and a Top Secret security clearance.
A pool of candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions within the RCMP in the National Capital Region on an indeterminate or specified period (including term, acting, or assignment) basis, with various linguistic profiles and various RCMP security clearances.
Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

EDUCATION
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, aeronautical engineering, geological engineering, naval architecture or some other engineering specialty relevant to the duties of the position.
EXPERIENCE
- Experience in managing financial(1) resources and human resources(2) or leading a project team.
- Experience working on engineering/IT projects.
- Experience in providing strategic advice or technical guidance and recommendations to senior management (i.e. Manager level and above) on complex(3) issues related to IM/IT or Radio.
- Experience in developing and sustaining collaborative relationships, dealing with various internal and external stakeholders.
Definitions:
* Experience is defined as the depth and breadth normally acquired by performing a broad range of activities associated with performing the full duties for a period of approximately three (3) years.
(1) Financial management is defined as, but not limited to: managing and being accountable for a budget, having full delegation for a section or project budget, forecasting, planning, budget allocation, reporting, etc.
(2) Human resource management/team leadership is defined as, but not limited to: assigning work, managing performance, developing resourcing plans, determining needs and approving training, etc.
(3) Complex issues are issues with at least three (3) of the following characteristics: multidimensional (i.e. affects program and/or projects (time, scope and cost)), sensitive, confidential, affecting many clients, partners or stakeholders, precedent setting, having a major impact on the public service.
OCCUPATION CERTIFICATION:
Eligibility for certification as a professional engineer in Canada with specialization in an engineering specialty relevant to the position (some positions may require eligibility for certification as a professional engineer in Canada without regard for the field of specialization).
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in project management of radio communication systems
Experience in RF Domain
Experience in life cycle support of radio systems
Experience in Telecommunication (data &voice) Networks.
Experience evaluating and interpreting science and technology research papers, contracts, or agreements.
Experience in developing business case, request for information, and request for proposal.
