🚩 AREA OF SELECTION SPECIFICITY:
* Sliding area of selection: Should an insufficient number of applicants be identified, within the above "who can apply" section, then persons residing outside Canada will be eligible for consideration in this process. Therefore, we encourage all candidates to apply.

*Definition of sliding area of selection: When it is uncertain where the pool of potential applicants is, a geographic area of selection may be established with an indication that a larger geographic area of selection may be used if there is an insufficient number of applicants from the smaller geographic area.

📢If you live outside Canada and are not a Canadian citizen, please note that you must possess at a minimum, a valid work permit to temporarily work in Canada. Permanent resident status is required for full-time permanent work in Canada. You can apply for this process even if you do not currently have a work permit, but you will need one if you are qualified and are hired. Therefore, if you are interested in working in Canada, it would be best to visit the Citizenship and Immigration Coming to Canada document. You may also contact your local Canadian embassy for more information on immigration.

🚩SPECIFICITY FOR DETERMINING THE LEVEL OF APPOINTMENT:
**The classification level and rate of pay of the candidate on appointment is based on the candidate’s qualifications, achievements and assessment during the recruitment process by a committee.

👉HOW TO APPLY?
Applicants will be required to answer screening questions for each of the essential criteria as well as for the asset criteria (education and experience) within the electronic application.

When answering the screening questions, remember that the assessment committee cannot make assumptions about your experience. It is not enough to say that you have the required skills or to list the duties you currently perform or have performed in the past. Instead, applicants must demonstrate that they meet the education and experience criteria in the job advertisement by providing CLEAR AND CONCRETE EXAMPLES.

⭐Using the STAR method can help you fully illustrate your examples.
S- situation
T- task
A- action/activity
R- results

Your Curriculum Vitae can be used as a secondary source of information and is used strictly to validate the concrete examples you have described.

All information and communications obtained during the selection process, from the date of application to the end of the process, can be used to assess qualifications.

You must meet all essential qualifications to be qualified. Asset qualifications, under the "other qualifications" sections, are not essential, but may be deciding factors at any stages of the process.

Work environment

Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) is always looking for talented and skilled individuals to join our team. Our success lies in a dynamic workforce that strives for excellence and innovation. Are you looking for an environment that offers many challenges with the opportunity to work on high profile issues? If you wish to contribute significantly by sharing your expertise, knowledge and initiative in the achievement of government priorities, we may have the job opportunity for you.

💼Work will be conducted at ECCC University of Victoria Queenswood, Victoria, British Columbia

Intent of the process
