📌Workplace
The positions to be filled are located in Amherst and Halifax. Successful candidates will be required to work at the work site in a hybrid work mode. A part-time telework agreement may be discussed and implemented at the time of hiring in accordance with the operational needs of the position to be filled.
We are looking to staff various entry level positions however, we believe the duties these employees perform are more than routine administrative requirements. The employees in these positions perform critical functions and their contribution to team success is the backbone of organizational effectiveness.
This process will be used to fulfill positions such as General Administration clerk, Administrative assistant, Administrative support to the director or other similar positions. Roles may be related to planning, organizing and coordinating meetings or events, finance, information management, human resources, research and data entry,production of documents, etc.
This process is in support of current and future staffing needs within the Indigenous Services Canada Atlantic Regional Office. As positions become available, applicants who meet the qualifications will be contacted for consideration.
A pool of candidates will be established to staff similar or identical positions at Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) with various locations, tenure, linguistic profiles or security requirements.

EDUCATION
A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE
Experience in providing administrative support services.
(Examples may include, but are not limited: providing information, assistance and advice over the phone, by email or in-person; scheduling and organizing meetings; preparing, recording or distributing meeting agenda, minutes and background materials; purchasing and maintaining an inventory of office furniture, supplies or equipment; working in a mailroom; working in a records area; maintaining files; making travel arrangements; processing travel claims; and paying invoices. These experiences may have been gained on the job, through school work or volunteer work.)
ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES
CR-04 and AS-01
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Ability to provide quality client service.
Ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

ASSETS - EXPERIENCE
Experience working with First Nations, Inuit, and/or Métis, external stakeholders and/or employment equity groups.
Experience using SAP financial system.
Experience with travel arrangements and/or using HRG Travel System.
Experience in coordination and/or administration of financial procedures (could include: monthly variance reporting, spreadsheets, invoice reconciliation and/or initiating purchasing).
Experience providing administrative support services to senior management.
Experience using an electronic tasking and tracking system.
