Information on employment equity

We will only accept on-line applications received via the GC Jobs site at: https://www.canada.ca/en/public-service-commission/jobs/services/gc-jobs.html. To submit an application on-line, please select the button "Apply Online" below. Persons with disabilities preventing them from applying on-line should contact 1-800-645-5605.

It is the responsibility of the candidate to clearly outline that they meet each of the criteria in the online questionnaire, which is provided during the application process. Please note that it is not enough to only state that the requirement is met or to provide a listing of past or current responsibilities. Rather the candidate must provide concrete and detailed examples that illustrate how they meet the requirement. Failure to do so could result in the application being rejected from the process. The screening board cannot make any assumptions about your experience and will not contact candidates for additional or potentially missing information.

Candidates are strongly encouraged to indicate if they meet any of the asset qualifications or the organizational needs, depending on the requirements of the specific position being staffed. Meeting one or many of the asset qualifications may be a deciding factor in appointing a candidate amongst the qualified candidates. Please note that one, some or all the asset qualifications could be used at any stage of the staffing process.

Candidates must provide proof of education credentials upon request.

You may be assessed using a variety of assessment tools, such as, but not limited to: standardized tests, written exams, interviews, simulation exercises, reference checks, recent and past performance evaluations, self-assessments, candidate achievement record, etc.

Persons are entitled to participate in the appointment process in the official language of their choice. Applicants will be asked to indicate in their on-line application their preferred official language for each of the following: a) correspondence, b) written exam, and c) interview.

Acknowledgment of receipt of applications will not be sent.

Once the screening of applications has been completed, only candidates proceeding to the next stage will be contacted.

NOTE: Our intention is to communicate with applicants by e-mail for screening/assessment purposes. It is imperative that you provide a valid email address that accepts e-mail from unknown users (some email systems block these types of email). Candidates are strongly encouraged to check their email on a regular basis. It is entirely your responsibility to inform us at all times of any changes regarding your contact information.

Natural Resources Canada may use the services of a third-party Human Resources Consultant to administer the assessment for this position. In this regard, your name and email address would be provided to this organization to facilitate the administration of the assessment tool(s). By submitting your application, you are providing Natural Resources Canada your consent to provide this personal information to the organization for administration purposes only. This information will only be used for administration of the assessment tool.

Depending on the number of applicants, Natural Resources Canada needs and HR plans, volume management strategies such as random selection, application of one (1) or more assets, top-down approach, and/or cut-off scores may be used for the purpose of managing applications/candidates.
