- Manages the resources for the day-to-day operation, safety and serviceability of all airport facilities for the air carriers, general aviation, other tenants and the public.
- Managing the site emergency response and safety programs.
- Implements and monitors a security program according to the Canadian Aviation Security Regulations, 2012 PART 6 for Class 3 Aerodromes.
- Manages the maintenance of all airport systems, physical plant and mobile assets in accordance with the principles of the lifecycle management.
- Manages the airport human and financial resources.
- Implements and monitors the delivery of the airport Safety Management System (SMS) program.
Starting April 1, 2023, all federal employees will be required to work from a Government of Canada workplace at least two to three times per week, or 40% to 60% of their regular schedule. At Transport Canada (TC), this means we work at a worksite at least eight days during a four-week period. Worksites include, but are not limited to, spaces such as TC approved worksites and collaborative spaces; Locations where TC inspectors conduct their work inspections or locations of stakeholder activities and meetings as well as Government of Canada touchdown and collaborative spaces.
This selection process aims to staff the position of Airport Manager on an indeterminate basis. This position is located at the airport in Sept-Îles, Quebec, and duties must be completed from this location. The appointee will need to be able to work from the airport at least two or three times per week, or 40% to 60% of their normal schedule. More frequent attendance at work may be required.
A pool of candidates, either fully or partially qualified, may be established to meet current and future needs of Transport Canada.

EDUCATION
- A degree from a recognized secondary education institution or an acceptable combination of studies, training, and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE
- Experience in developing working relationships with various internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in the application or interpretation of legislation, policy, regulations, directives or standards.
- Experience in managing issues and making strategic recommendations and presenting briefing materials to managers or directors.
- Experience in managing a budget.
- Experience in the supervision of staff.
EDUCATION
- A degree from a recognized post-secondary education institution.
EXPERIENCE
- Experience in the airport sector.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Airside Vehicle Operations Permit (AVOP).

- Ability to obtain and maintain a Possession and Acquisition License (PAL).
Secret security clearance
- Possession of a valid provincial or territorial driver’s license.
