Salary, Allowances, and Benefits:

In addition to salary, you are entitled to an isolated posts allowance. This can range from $19,833 to $27,387 per year, depending on the number of dependants, geographic location and whether the accommodation is provided by the Crown. You are also entitled to vacation travel allowance of approximately $1,000 once a year for you and each eligible dependant.

As a federal government employee, you will also receive a comprehensive benefit package including an employee pension plan and health, dental and group insurance.

Duties

This position will:
• Provide funding administration for program recipients in the Northwest Territories;
• Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships with internal (federal government) and external (Indigenous communities and governments in the Northwest Territories);
• Write and contribute to reports, summaries, briefing notes, scenario notes and presentations; and
• Coordinate and support key regional program and policy files.

Work environment

The Indigenous-Territorial Relations Unit, within the Northwest Territories Regional Office for Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (CIRNAC), is a small but mighty team based out of the Yellowknife Office, that works to support regional intergovernmental relations efforts through policy and program lenses! No two days are the same! You’ll have the opportunity to work with colleagues within CIRNAC, Indigenous Services Canada, across the federal family, and counterparts in Indigenous and community governments across the territory. Intent of the process

Immediate need: Three (3) full-time indeterminate positions at Yellowknife, NT.

This process will be used to fill current vacancies and to establish a pool of qualified candidates for future opportunities (Deployment, Assignment, Secondment, Acting, Term or Indeterminate) in Northwest Territories only, with various security requirements (reliability or secret). Candidate information will not be shared with federal departments outside Northwest Territories to fill vacancies elsewhere across Canada.

Degree equivalency

• Experience providing advice to Manager/Supervisor or equivalent.
• Experience in interpreting and applying policies or procedures.

Conditions of employment

The following conditions must also be met on taking up the position and maintained throughout the employment:

• Ability to work overtime, sometimes on short notice, as required.
• Willing and able to travel, including to remote communities by various means of transportation (i.e. small aircraft, vehicle or boat), travelling in some adverse road and weather conditions.
• Should relocation be required, the incumbent must complete a Health Declaration form for themselves and dependents, in accordance with the Isolated Post and Government Housing Directive.
