EDUCATION
EDU1- Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in an area related to the duties of the position to be filled.
EXPERIENCE
EX1: Significant* experience in developing and implementing strategies, regional plans, initiatives, policies, or programs related to economic development.
EX2- Significant* experience establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with a variety** of partners and stakeholders.
EX3- Significant* experience in providing strategic advice, briefings or recommendations to senior executives on strategies, plans, initiatives, policies, or programs related to economic development.
EX4: Significant* experience in managing complex human*** and financial**** resources.
Definitions:
*Significant experience is defined as having the depth and breadth of the experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of various, complex related activities which would have been acquired at the manager (EX minus 1) level over a period of 2 or more years.
**a variety of partners and stakeholders is defined as including non for profit organizations, other federal agencies, other levels of government, indigenous communities, and private stakeholders.
This position requires someone who can manage teams across three regions and a large grants and contributions budget.
***“Complex human resources” is defined as the management of a direct reports who manage a team or the direct management of multiple teams in terms of priority-setting, supervision, assigning duties, performance evaluation and management.
****The management of “complex financial resources” is defined as full delegation and being responsible for financial planning, budget allocation and monitoring, resource management, forecasting and reporting.
ASSET EXPERIENCE
AEX1- Experience managing grants and contributions program budgets.
AEX2- A professional accounting designation.
AEX3- Experience leading, designing or implementing community or regional initiatives.
AEX4-Experience in advocacy or promoting regional economic interests.
AEX5-Experience working with Indigenous communities and/or rural underserved communities.
AEX6- Experience engaging with underrepresented communities, such as persons with disabilities, youth, members of the LGBTQ2 community, racialized groups, etc.
