Note that the common telework approach to hybrid work is 2- 3 days per week. Fisheries and Oceans Canada is looking for dynamic and dedicated individuals to be part of our team of IT professionals from coast to coast to coast.

The intent of the process is to have an established pool of qualified candidates with various linguistic profile requirements, locations and security clearance for future appointments at DFO's.

🎓 Education
All streams
Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary
institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.
Notes:
1. Indeterminate incumbents of positions in the IT Group on 09/012/2021 who do not
possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education
standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted
as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for
when staffing positions in the IT Group.
2. Indeterminate incumbents of positions in the CS group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. ▫️ Experience leading IM/IT projects or initiatives, or being responsible for key deliverables throughout a project or initiative
▫️ Experience in analyzing client requirements and finding technical solutions to meet their needs.
▫️ Significant* experience in providing advice and recommendations to decision makers** on Information Management (IM) or Information Technology (IT) issues, projects, solutions or strategies
Stream 1: IT Team Leader, Infrastructure Operations
▫️ Significant* Experience in preparing technical documentation, such as, but not limited to, procedures, user guides, IM/IT requirements, technical notes intended for internal or external clients.
▫️ Significant* experience in developing and implementing Information Management (IM) or Information Technology (IT) plans, solutions or strategies to achieve business or technology objectives.
Stream 2: IT Team Leader, Software Solutions
▫️ Significant* Experience working in an IM/IT multidisciplinary team
*Significant is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with full-time performance of duties for a period of approximately two (2) years.
**"Decision maker" is defined as a supervisor or above (private sector) or IT03 or equivalent and above (Public Service).

▫️ Experience supervising or leading a team including planning, coordinating tasks, delegating work, monitoring/evaluating progress, providing feedback and coaching employees.
Stream 1: Team Leader, Infrastructure Operations
▫️ Significant* experience working in an IT infrastructure management function. This may include (but is not limited to) design, implementation, or operation of on-premises or cloud solutions for compute, storage, networking, security, infrastructure operations, or end-user computing.
▫️ Experience working with Government of Canada procurement processes, tools, and vehicles such as, but not limited to, Request for Proposals (RFP) and Request for Volume Discount (RVD) processes, SSC’s IT Pro website and the National Master Standing Offer (NMSO).
Stream 2: Team Leader, Software Solutions
▫️ Experience working in an agile environment
▫️ Experience with Microsoft Azure
▫️ Experience with the Government of Canada’s IT Security Assessment and Authorization process
▫️ Recent Experience in application development
▫️ Experience in providing maintenance and support for applications
▫️ Experience in IT Project Management
