Duties

The Administrative Services Unit is responsible for the delivery of finance, administration, and human resource services for the Surveyor General Branch three lines of business, with offices located throughout the country: the Canada Lands Survey System; the Canadian Geodetic Survey; and the Canadian Section of the International Boundary Commission. The Administrative Officer is responsible for the delivery and coordination of services for a designated Surveyor General Branch client group.

Intent of the process

The intent of this selection process is to staff two (2) indeterminate AS-02 positions; Client Services Officers, within the Surveyor General Branch, Lands and Minerals Sector at Natural Resources Canada, located at the Booth street complex, Ottawa, Ontario.

A pool of qualified candidates may be established through this process to staff identical or similar AS-02 positions at Natural Resources Canada with various tenures (determinate period or indeterminate), language requirements (English Essential, French Essential, English or French Essential and Bilingual Imperative or Non-Imperative) and profile(s) (BBB/BBB, CBC/CBC,CCC/CCC, etc.), locations and conditions of employment.

Your résumé.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

► A secondary school diploma and/or acceptable experience or training in a field relevant to the positions.

Degree equivalency

► Approximately one (1) year of recent* experience providing administrative support to management in at least two (2) of the following areas:

1) Finance (ie. using SAP to create/change/delete Funds Commitments, create Goods Receipts, create/change Funds Reservations),
2) Human resources (ie. preparing documents for staffing requests, submitting security clearances, using MyGCHR or PeopleSoft),
3) Procurement (ie. creating contracts, purchase requisitions, purchase orders, getting quotes), and,
4) Travel requests (ie making and/or reviewing travel claims).

*Recent is defined as having been obtained in the last 3 years.

► Experience providing service to clients.
► Experience monitoring or tracking requests.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

► Experience working with Excel using pivot tables.
► Experience with a government acquisition card and monthly reconciliation.
► Experience generating financial commitments and actual reports in SAP.
