The Response and Support Coordinator position consists of providing ongoing support and assistance to CAF, DND public service employees, Cadets and Junior Canadian Rangers and family members of the wider Defence Community, that have experienced sexual misconduct. The type of services offered include providing supportive counselling, information and referrals to resources and services, accompaniment to appointments, meetings and proceedings, assistance with workplace arrangements and other practical assistance.

The Sexual Misconduct Support and Resource Centre (SMSRC) offers support services for currently serving and former Canadian Armed Forces members, National Defence public service employees, Cadets and Junior Canadian Rangers affected by sexual misconduct and their families, aged 16 and older. SMSRC also provides guidance and support for leaders and management on addressing sexual misconduct.
The intent of this process is to fill current and future vacancies in various locations with various employment tenures and language profiles within the Department of National Defence.
As a result of this process, a pool of candidates may be established and used to staff the same or similar positions in various locations, durations, security requirements, operational requirements, and conditions of employment.
Telework, may be considered, depending on the operational requirements of the position.
Please note: You may be required to report the designated worksite at the request of the manager. Additionally, telework arrangements are not long-term commitments and will be evaluated, at minimum, annually. Should the telework agreement come to an end, you will be required to report to and work from the designated worksite.

EDUCATION
ED1. Graduation with a bachelor’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with an acceptable specialization in a relevant social science such as social work, psychology, or sexology.
OR
ED2. Candidates who possess a college diploma in a field related to mental health, community, or social services (ex. social work, victimology, etc.) may also be considered with a combination of a minimum of two (2) continuous years of experience within a professional workplace setting*.
*Note: Experience obtained within a professional workplace setting is defined as being acquired in the context of employment that is remunerated. Internships/practicums carried out within post-secondary studies do not meet this criterion.

EXPERIENCE
EX1. Significant* experience in case management or case coordination with vulnerable populations, or individuals who have experienced trauma.
EX2. Significant* experience in providing suicide risk assessments and intervention in a social service or health care context.
EX3. Experience in delivering presentations to clients, colleagues, senior management, or external partners in a workplace setting.
EX4. Experience establishing, developing, and managing productive and cooperative partnerships with internal or external partners.
*Significant experience will be assessed in terms of the depth and breadth of activities, the complexity and diversity of work handled, as well as the level of autonomy demonstrated. While such an experience would normally be acquired over a period of approximately two (2) years, a shorter duration may be considered based on demonstrated complexity and diversity of work handled, scope of work, or level of direct responsibility.
ASSET EXPERIENCE
AEX1. Experience in providing support to individuals who have experienced sexual violence.
AEX2. Experience working or volunteering in a mixed military/civilian environment.
AEX3. Experience providing services or support to current and former Canadian Armed Forces (CAF).
