Assessment accommodation

Duties

As an Economic Development Officer, you will contribute through analysis and assessment to promote and facilitate economic, commercial and industrial development opportunities for Indigenous people. You will participate in reviewing and evaluating proposals such as financial contributions, business plans and financial projections for viability and sustainability. You will contribute to the preparation of recommendations, advice and departmental reports for management in response to key issues, project development, and approval.

📌 Workplace:
The workplace of the position to be filled is located in Quebec City (320 St-Joseph Street East). Successful candidates will be required to work at the work site in a hybrid work mode. A part-time telework agreement may be discussed and implemented at the time of hiring in accordance with the operational needs of the position to be filled.

Intent of the process

The immediate intent of this selection process is to staff one indeterminate Economic development Officer Regional.

A pool of candidates will be established to staff similar or identical positions at Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) with various locations, tenure, linguistic profiles or security requirements.

EDUCATION
A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with an acceptable specialization* in business, business administration, economics, finance or regional development.

Notes:
*Specialization courses must have been taken with a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily as part of a program leading to a degree in the required specialization.
**At the manager’s discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience, that is comparable to a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization relevant to the work to be performed, may serve as an alternative to meet the minimum education standard.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE
Recent experience* in reviewing and evaluating proposals such as business or procurement plans or economic development proposals, or financial documents.
Recent experience* in mobilizing partners (Indigenous organizations, private industries, provincial and/or federal departments) on economic issues and business opportunity development.
Recent experience* in developing promotional tools and products to share information and promote programs or initiatives.

*Recent experience is defined as experience acquired within the last two (2) years.

ASSET EDUCATION
Master of a recognized post-secondary institution with an acceptable specialization related to the duties of the position.
