You will get the opportunity to work on a wide range of tasks depending on the division you are in. This process is focused on the first two areas of the directorate (Planning & Results Division).
The Planning, Reporting and Risk Division provides direction on planning, reporting and risk activities, including the development of the Departmental Plan, the Departmental Results Report and the Departmental Risk Profile. The Division also coordinates the Department's response, ongoing analysis and internal reporting for the Management Accountability Framework.
The Results Division focuses on building a culture of results and a consistent and coordinated results story for the Department. It supports results-based management by providing advice and guidance on the development of results, indicators, targets and milestones. The division also manages the Department’s centralized holdings of results information through our web-based application, iResults, and supports results-based decision-making and innovation throughout the Department.
We work on a number of leading-edge projects and initiatives that explore innovative ways of bringing together different elements of departmental work to better support decision-making and tell the departmental results story. This will allow you to:
• Get exposure to all of Fisheries and Oceans and Coast Guard program operations
• Grow your strategic thinking and analytical skills
• Participate in and/or lead key departmental projects and initiatives
• Provide strategic advice to various policy and program areas
• Collaborate with brilliant minds within and outside of the department
• Provide briefings and recommendations to senior management
• Think outside the box and find innovative solutions to problems and so much more!

Our teams consist of dynamic, enthusiastic individuals from all walks of life with a broad range of experience and skills and we are always looking to incorporate new ways of thinking in how we do our work – your ideas are welcome!
