The Special Accounts unit deals with the recovery process for the Agency as well as complex files and files requiring special attention such as files involving sale of shares, sale of assets or chronic arrears.

This process will be used to staff one bilingual imperative (French and English) position (indeterminate tenure) at ACOA in Moncton, New Brunswick.
A pool of candidates will also be created to staff possible vacancies for the Special Accounts Officer positions only.

EDUCATION
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, or an acceptable combination* of education, training and/or experience, that is comparable to a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization relevant to the work to be performed.
* For example: eligibility from a recognized professional accounting designation.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:
• Experience in conducting operational reviews or situation analysis of high-risk accounts and/or developing work-out plans and/or managing problem accounts.
• Experience in analysis and interpretation of financial statements and external reports (including audit, receivership, trustee, etc.).
• Experience in dealing with situations of insolvency and/or in recovery and collection activity.

ASSET EXPERIENCE:
• Experience in working with financial institutions, federal/provincial governments, professional accounting and legal firms regarding recovery matters.
• Experience in financial restructuring, bankruptcy administration, realizing on security and collections.

ORGANIZATIONAL NEEDS:
